The World Health Organisation (WHO) International Reference Standards for Antibiotics (ISA) are global benchmarks intended for the establishment of secondary standards subsequently used in laboratory tests or assays. They are supplied for assays described in the specifications for quality control of antibiotic materials.

Since 2006, The European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines and Health Care (EDQM) has been responsible for establishing, storing and distributing these WHO standards.
