Chiral Molecules
A chiral molecule has a mirror image that is non-superimposable. Chirality is central to normal biochemical processes in living organisms because one enantiomer may show different activity and biological functions than the other. Many drugs are designed with chirality in mind, and laboratories require high-quality chiral building blocks for organic synthesis, as well as chiral molecules for research and reference standards for drug testing.
