Become a nitrosamine expert with our latest podcast
Nitrosamines are commonly found in foods that are preserved with nitrites, such as meat. They’re also found in drinking water from multiple sources, including improper disposal of pharmaceutical products which contain nitrosamine impurities and the use of certain disinfection bi-products which can produce nitrosamine by-products. Many nitrosamines are known carcinogens which is why they are more frequently being regulated by the FDA and other regulatory bodies around the world.
The latest Dr. Ehrenstorfer podcast sees LGC experts Dan Biggerstaff and Mike Ludlow joined by special guest Ben Priest, from our preferred partner Cambridge Isotope Laboratories (CIL), to discuss the ever evolving topic of Nitrosamines.
Sharing their expertise, you'll learn about where nitrosamines are measured, how they end up in the environment including drinking, waste and surface water. You'll also gain an understanding of the very important but complex issues of nitrosamine regulation, the challenges laboratories face when testing for nitrosamines and how to overcome these.
